Custom Lasik Intralase

July 29, 2010

This was my custom lasik intralase surgery preformed by Dr. Daivd Schanzlin of TLC Laser Eye Center in La Jolla, California. I was at a -2.75 and -3.0 with 1.0 astigmatism . By the next day I was already seeing 20/20. There was no pain what so ever during the surgery. There was some pain and dryness later that night after the surgery but nothing out of the norm. I am experiencing slightly dry eyes but it has only been 4 days since my surgery. Im so pleased with the outcome. *The voice you hear is not the doctors but my brother’s.

@LAPPAGURL09 The dryness will most likely go away, and it can take several months. I used the Refresh Plus drops since they have no preservatives. I also recommend you use Refresh PM nighttime ointment. Since your corneas have lost a lot of sensitivity, your eyelids may not completely shut when you sleep. The ointment keeps your eyes moist so that you don’t wake with dry eyes.

Hi no I don’t have to use the eye drops any more and my eyes are totally fine now. I occasionally wash them (Galpharm eye wash) but I used to do that before and its just really refreshing. I used to wear glasses for 15 years and only 10 weeks after having it done I can’t even remember what its like to not be able to see. I hope the dryness ends for you soon but if not wash them out, it really helps :o )

I had this done 6 days ago, I won’t lie it is unpleasant but it is not painful – the waiting around is the worst thing. 24 hours after it was done I had 20/20 vision and I was minus 6 in both eyes prior to it. Your eyes will be dry for a week afterwards but my god is it worth it!

I was supposed to get this done today by this same guy at this same place… But it was postponed because they had to fix the machine… I was kinda pissed that it was postponed but glad that they are ensuring their machines are working properly before they do surgery. Kinda scary to watch this video but thanks for posting it for others who don’t know what to expect!

sorry to bother u but im actually going for my consultation at the TLC centre in Toronto also this week and my perscription is about the same as in this video minus the astigmatism just wondering if u don’t mind telling me an approx for the cost and how well u can see now and ur night vision, or even the general experience

That was very fast. How is your vision now?

So, is there no risk of the flap getting opened after the surgery?

the guy who got the surgery done was saying that, not the doc – he was videotaping the tv to put up on youtube.

Had this done last week at a TLC centre in Toronto. Amazing results. My prescription is nearly the same as yours, and just like you I had 20/20 vision the next day! Good stuff!

I don’t like it when the guy operating on my eye says “Sh!t” and “G0d damnnit”. Not very confidence inspiring. I hope everything worked out for you.
